Greater Pittsburgh Behavioral Therapy serves the region in evidence-based treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, OC Spectrum and related anxiety disorders. Greater Pittsburgh Behavioral Therapy believes in creating a harmony between evidence-based treatment and patient needs, particularly for children. We develop hierarchies specific to each child that enters our office and incorporate the child’s likes and interests into therapy sessions. Our process goes beyond the four walls of an office and we will venture outdoors, into the community, or into the home. We meet the child’s needs where they exist and provide therapy within a framework of what is familiar to them. We educate parents on the crucial role they play in their child’s progress and train them on how to implement exposures and provide support outside of sessions. This includes extended family, teachers, faith leaders and school personnel. Our integrated approach is vital for success in treatment, not only for brain disorders, but with any diagnosis. Skills learned, including aspects of mindfulness, will serve the patient in many facets of their lives.
